Haridwar is one of the most important pilgrim cities of India and is located on the banks of river Ganges, more commonly known as Ganga River, originating from the Gangotri Glacier in Himalayas. Mansa Devi Temple: It is situated on the top of Bilwa Parvat and is made in remembrance of goddess Mansa Devi who is considered to be the goddess who fulfills desires.
Maya Devi Temple: This temple embarks upon the story, where Lord Shiva’s First wife Sati’s one of the many body parts fell when she died.
Kankhal: It is the ancient temple of Daksh Mahadev, also known as the Daksheswara Mahadev Temple.
Neel Dhara Pakshi Sarovar: It is a lake linked with the Ganges river and is a very popular territory for birds. It is a bird sanctuary.
Bharat Mata Mandir: It is a multi storey building which is a temple dedicated to Bharat Mata that is Mother India.
Anandamayi Maa Ashram: It is situated in Kankhal, the ashram was the house of Sri Anandamayi Maa.
Shantikunj: It is the headquarter of All World Gayatri Pariwar.
Best time to visit: Haridwar has moderate climate in both summers and winters and visited by people all the year round but is mostly visited during the kumbh mela despite of the climate or weather. The water of river Ganges is usually clear and cold except in the monsoons. The summer temperature reaches a maximum of 44 C and the winter temperature reaches a minimum of 2 C.
